Belize a small country in Central America with the Caribbean coast to the north is bordered by Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. Our Language
While Belize is a Central American Nation we have the uniqueness of the only English speaking territory there so if you are travelling around or plan on retiring here then you don't have to know spanish to survive. Spanish is also widely spoken especially in the border districts including CAYO, Corozal and Punta Gorda due to the proximity of our neighboring territories.
 
Other languages spoken in Belize are the creole language that is most common and is a blend of english with dialect. Learning a few words or sentences would be quite an interesting and unforgettable experience. The Garifuna language is also here in the areas concentrated by the Gariganu or Garifuna people especially in the south of Belize such as Dangriga, Hopkins, Seine Bight and Punta Gorda.
